Sarah-Jane has been in the fitness industry for nearly 10 years.  She is a Certified professional Personal Trainer and Weight Management Specialist. 
 
Sarah-Jane is a former professional middle distance runner (from the age of 8 until she was 16)  in the 800-metres and 1500-metres with the Hamilton Harriers.  Sarah-Jane loves running to this day, and enjoys helping clients learn the art of running.

As a recent member of the SJ Fitness team, Kirsty has been shadowing her mentor, SJ for the majority of 2007/08 and has handled her new role impressively.  Kirsty has gained previous formal experience in Pilates, Stability Ball exercise, Box Fitness and after successfully completing her HND in Health Fitness & Exercise, is well on her way to achieving her PT Diploma.

 

Kirsty employs a fun, relaxed approach to all her classes and is comfortable when working under (minimal/no supervision), but will definitely have you feeling like you’ve been put through your paces.

Although better known as the face of the STV branding advert, dancing, singing and modelling, Nathalie’s first passion is motivating and educating people in how to become ‘Healthy for Life’.  Qualifying in the industry over 5 years ago, she has proved that her bright motivational character and teaching methods are not only successful but are in high demand as her clients testify to receiving challenging but fun-filled workouts that they cannot help return to week after week.

 

As a certified fitness instructor, she has worked assisting in the daily operation of a busy city gym, taught primary and secondary school pupils the basics of fitness and has taken mini group sessions to large classes of over 60 people at a time.  Nathalie is now turning her focus to incorporating personal training into her fitness world.

Aileen has gained over 10 years experience in the fitness industry; managing gyms, teaching kids’ fitness, teaching a range of group fitness classes. She is also well known for her dance moves on the party floor!

Aileen has been working outside of SJ Fitness for South Lanarkshire leisure for over 10 years in various capacities ranging from; fitness assistant and fitness supervisor to instruction teaching a variety of classes.  She gained extensive knowledge and experience in the key operational elements of running a gym on a daily basis. 

Aileen is a Fit Pro member holding valid insurance, music license, disclosure Scotland and is a member of the REPS register of exercise professionals.

Alexis is a previous client of Sarah Jane’s and became involved in Pilates due to a back injury through her work.
 
Alexis has always enjoyed working with people and as a result she decided to become a Pilates instructor.
 
Sarah Jane recognised Alexis’s love of Pilates and has encouraged and mentored
her to gain her qualifications as a gym and Pilates instructor.
 
 
“I love participating in Pilates, and I now enjoy showing people how Pilates can change their lives. 3 years ago I was in severe pain and using a walking stick, now I am mobile (and thrown the stick away) with very little discomfort. Joanna has been part of the SJ Fitness team since early 2007. Joanna is studying Sport Medicine at Glasgow University. Joanna is currently going through her London YMCA fitness instructor qualification – we will see her working with clients very soon!

Carolyn Donaldson

Having practised yoga for almost thirty years, Carolyn combined her
interests in yoga and nutrition to qualify as a Yoga For Slimmers
consultant in 2006, and then chose to leave her job in the BBC to
concentrate wholly on teaching yoga and painting in acrylics. 

In the past she has also practised Transcendental Meditation and completed
the first part of the TM Siddhi course. She extended her training
through Aura in hatha yoga to help people achieve their full
potential for happiness and tranquillity, health and flexibility,
through postures and simple breathing techniques. 

She incorporates this with positive visualizations for relaxation, leaving you
refreshed and stress free. In addition to classes, she offers one-to-
one personal tuition as well as office-based coaching for corporate
organizations.
